Arrive Wednesday evening for a champagne welcome toast, then join me at our exclusive beach club restaurant cantilevered over the ocean for a dinner of fresh Dominican dishes by an award-winning chef.

Our private villa will be filled daily with tropical fruits and island snacks — perfect for slow mornings by the pool or barefoot walks on the private beach.

Throughout the retreat, I’ll be there with you — guiding you through the rhythm of the Dominican Republic as both a resident and storyteller, blending the scent of salt and jasmine with the rituals of my books — where every chapter becomes an invitation to remember who you are beneath the noise.

The Experience

Mornings open with the hush of palms, the whisper of the sea, and the promise of mango and espresso. A Finnish chef stirs his fresh fish soup, caught that morning and simmered in sea herbs — a slow feast meant to last all day. Later, we gather for fish and shrimp tacos and hand-shaken margaritas, the limes pulled from the villa trees, the laughter easy and unhurried.

You’ll ride horseback along the ocean, stopping where the sand kisses the surf for a piña colada served in the shade of a palm. Then, an afternoon massage inside the villa — tropical oils, linen sheets, soft guitar music, and the kind of silence that heals.

We’ll travel by riverboat to the Boca, where the river meets the sea — an elemental edge of the world — to share wood-fire lunch with our feet in the sand, the smoke curling into salt air. Another night will take us high into the mountains for a private dinner overlooking the jungle, the air thick with night jasmine, the table lit by firelight and stories.

On Saturday morning, we’ll wander the local farmers market, collecting warm bread, handmade trinkets, and tropical blooms before returning to the villa — our baskets full, our spirits grounded.

And when night falls, the candles will find us.

The jungle hums, the ocean hushes, and the air tastes like salt and sandalwood.

We gather — barefoot, open — for The Jungle Reading Ritual.

I’ll read to you from the worlds I’ve built — from Dressing Room Confessions, where identity first shatters and rebuilds in the mirror; from The Other Species, where love and survival twist together like smoke and silk; and from unreleased passages of Book Three, the one written on this very island, where truth returns home in bare feet and tangled hair.

The words rise with the sound of the waves.

Not Included in the package:

    •    Airfare

    •    Alcholic beverages during off-site dinners and excursions (meals are covered, but cocktails, wine or spirits are at guest expense-- local Dominican rum are complimentary in the villa.

    •    Souvenirs and personal shopping items (like treasures found at the local farmers market or boutique stops)

    •    Optional spa or creative sessions

    •    Airport transfer from Puerto Plata International (POP) to villa is included once you arrive

Booking Details
    •    Price: $8,900 per guest
    •    Deposit: $2,225 to reserve (non-refundable but can be used towards 2027 retreat upon cancelllation) next paymnet due $2,225 in 60 days and balance due 30 days prior
    •    Capacity: Limited to 13 women (double occupancy)
